This.

And I'm waiting patiently for this to come out. A simple bolt-on efr turbo with massive gains to be had. Beautiful

I don't road course race but i think the 6758 would be too much turbo and would have to lower boost or be light on the throttle cause you will be smoking the **** out of the tires But your RWD so you would probably be ok with it just my opinion..
On a road course you are almost always in the high revs. So I think the 6758 would be fine.

I agree i think the 6758 is a good choice It drives like stock with tad bit more lag but it has more power so its hard to notice. The only thing i notice is between shifts its not instant power right away but that goes away in .25 secs once it starts ripping you through the seat You could eliminate that with a NLS but my ***** aren't that big lol..

I don't know what type of adapter setup you have, but our custom housing turbo does not have more lag than stock. It has the same boost threshold in the lower RPMs and spools faster than stock in the higher RPMs, such as after a shift.

My car is not finished yet was speaking on the few test runs and we are changing some parts so all i can say is felt pretty close lol.. And your right it does spool fast i'm not complaining i'm mostly afraid of blowing my transmission so i have been granny shifting it and i haven't put much seat time in yet just a lil testing. It really does drive like stock though you couldn't tell the difference if you didn't know besides the power I'll start a thread next week to show the build and all i'm gonna say is its one sexy build

I don't want to distract attention from this topic but I want to share my results with EFR6258 using Garret manifold on LNF, stock engine, stock head.

DIC shows in kPa (maxes out at 175kPa which is 25psi - 100 kPa is 15psi - 150kPa is 21psi). I have logged this turbo and hits 25psi around 2600-2800 rpm in 4th gear and didn't dropped under 25psi up to 6600rpm. Tune wasn't updated for EFR and I didn't went WOT in any of these videos.

These videos were taken right after turbo installation just to test that everything is working.

YouTube - BW EFR 6258 4th gear easy on the gas (No WOT)

YouTube - BW EFR 6258 4th gear

YouTube - BW EFR 6258 4th gear - 3

If ZZP kit would be available in the time when I decided to go with this turbo I would choose their product if it would fit Kappa.

This turbo spools faster than K04 even I didn't expect that. Good job ZZP to offer a kit with EFR turbos

im waiting to order my fmic kit just for the efr drop in turbo. i am going a differnt way on the intake though, trying to make it so i can have the factory airfilter box but have a custom pipe to turbo and then modify the inlet to the airbox with something similar to an airbox mod. trying to get 400+whp with as simple and stock looking as possible. i love being sneaky

I can't believe people questioning the lag. These are the best turbos in the world. As zzp said before, K04 spool, s256 power up top.

yeah there is literally next to no lag on these turbos. ive seen them in action on 2 cars out here. an Integra, and an Evo. the integra is pushing around 900hp @ 30psi, and the evo is pushing 660hp. these turbos spool just as fast as the stock k04 if not a lil faster.

The stock cobalt turbos were a pre-version of the EFR series. only difference is the stock cobalt k04 doesnt have the light weight turbine and compressor wheels. i beleive? dont quote me on that tho.

X2 with ZZP making this for the kappa platform and making gears for our transmission. I'll buy if they can deliver, if!

K04 is not ball bearing, either.

Request

Hey Matt,

I understand that you guys do your own dyno testing so I would request that you maybe start your pull on the dyno at a lower RPM if possible. I ask because I am interested in the power and torque at daily driving rpm levels as well as WOT acceleration runs. It is something that is of interest to myself as well as others deciding between the BNR 2871 and this turbo. I have no doubt that this turbo spools quicker than stock in the midrange but I would like to see spool in the lower rpms. Additionally, I think there may be a fairly large amount of interest in this upgrade without Ethanol as a significant improvement over the stock (older technology) turbo considering the current limited availablility of E85. I for one would like to see those results as well. I would love to be able to make power out to 7K rpm and possibly see a moderate gain in power under the curve. I imagine a cam/spring upgrade would make the non E85 turbo upgrade really tempting. Thanks for the hard work you guys are putting in on this.

Brad
