ZZP Builds The Best LNF Mod Ever!
DD or GTFO.
Sorry but I'm not looking to drag race all the time. I just love the idea of making this car faster and better than stock. 375-400 whp on pump gas seems easily met and is probably overkill for what I wanna do. I could always add meth inj if I really felt the need. I just am not willing to give up the stock low end to make 375 and I hate the way power falls off after 5200 to 5800 on the stock turbo. JM2CW.

My car is not finished yet was speaking on the few test runs and we are changing some parts so all i can say is felt pretty close lol.. And your right it does spool fast i'm not complaining i'm mostly afraid of blowing my transmission so i have been granny shifting it and i haven't put much seat time in yet just a lil testing. It really does drive like stock though you couldn't tell the difference if you didn't know besides the power
I'll start a thread next week to show the build and all i'm gonna say is its one sexy build
so this is highly interesting to me.. so in short, is this turbo a direct swap out, handles stock components, and the stock tune? .. there is a ton to read here haha.. so I guess I was looking for the general Jist... if I am running a GMS1, could I swap this thing out and just drive? or is there alot of ancillary work to be done by putting this thing on...

so with this turbo from zzp we dont have to runa ny coolant lines or anything? the stock stuff is all we need huh?
donkeyballs: do you have any inner motor work done, or just swap the turbo and go?

If I get ZZP EFR I'm only gonna shoot for 350-375whp. I don't want more than that.
I currently have 310whp, I don't wanna work on the internals and tranny any more. Probably still get a ZZP tranny, but don't wanna "have" to if you know what I mean.

I'm shooting for something similar to what youre going for. But no more than 400 whp

Yeah, I think if I get EFR that'll be it in performance mods. Maybe ZZP lower charge pipe, but that's it. I thought about meth inj on my car and I've even thought about trading it in for a 2011 MS3and starting a new project car haha, so my name would be SSTC 2 MS3
Ha Ha Ha Ha!!
350-375 whp goal and your gonna get a EFR turbo, not only is that a waste of its capabilities, thats a waste of money imo.
Anything less then a 400whp goal is a waste of a nice turbo like that.
Its your money though.

Yeah this is why it's a "if" for me. After reading more about the EFR and BNR I figured BNR would be better, but I'm not sure about getting BNR either.
Not everyone wants to run their car at 10/10ths.
For the stock turbo to hit those numbers, it would be maxxed out. Meaning the turbo would be stressed and it would need quite a lot of boost. It would also create a lot hotter air charge. It would not make for a reliable combination.
The EFR turbo will make those numbers without a sweat, which less stress (virtually none) on the turbo and much less boost pressure. That also means less stress on the engine, because the air charge will be cooler and it won't see as much boost.
Remember, larger turbos can make more power with less boost because they flow more air more efficiently. That also means the powerband won't fall flat after 5300RPM. Yet the EFR spools the same thanks to ball bearings and a titanium compressor wheel.
There is absolutely no downside. Better turbo, more power, less stress on the engine given the same power level, same spool, better top end.
Its a buyers market, everyone is entitle to do what they want with their money. And an EFR Turbo will feel right at Home with 375 whp. 450+ is pushing its limits and so will your engines. If you C a developer posting 450+ Dynoes of a project don't be so fast jumping the boat and dreaming that your car will produce that same amount of power! remember that they have put allot of time and trial to that particular car so that it can hold that amount of power.
It makes perfect sense, there is already a proven upgrade turbo for the 350-400 whp mark.
I'm not going to go into details about which turbo (you can figure it out) as this is the ZZP thread about there new EFR turbo and not a pissing contest.
Matt said himself the turbo I'm talking about fits the gap nicely between the stock turbo and there EFR series.
Like I said your money, not mine, just seems a waste for less then 400 whp, unless the EFR turbo is priced competetively to the other option in the 350-400 whp range.
If I were planning on 400+ whp, I definetly would get the EFR upgrade.

Thats with a brand spanking new Tial Q BOV.
The real question is what is the price of the EFR?
I'm not trying to make this into a whos turbo is better, EFR is a great turbo upgrade, just letting you guys know there is already a 350-400 whp bolt on option out there (with mustang dyno results).
