I've talked a bit to Matt about it, it seems to happen more often when rolling into the throttle, but even when just stomping on it you get a little bit.
I actually may be experiencing something similar if you're talking about the noise I think you are

The chachachacha noise, it's not BOV flutter when you let off.

Like the noise at 0:12 and 1:30. When you're getting on it and it starts to sound like its stuttering? I get that same noise and its driving me insane.

That's it, it's not good either. What turbo are you running?

I know, it only happens when I'm in second. Third gear goes solid. But I've been babying the car til I can figure it out. I'm running the S252et with the ZZP Swap.

Yea that definitely sounds like compressor surge. What a/r do you have and how much boost?

so i have 78xxx miles. probably 80xxx by the time i would go turbo. would it be safe to go turbo at this point? and if so what options on zzp kit would be best? what size turbo my STOCK internals can handle?

lots of questions i know.

thanks

Do a compression test to figure out general engine health.
Options on the kit depends on how deep your pockets are.
Stock internals are good to like 400hp or something.

Apparenly it's the .55a/r - 24PSI. Using the Tial Q 50mm.

Not sure what you mean...

From ZZP, standard 256 with .55 housing, maybe the a/r doesn't apply, not very familiar with turbo's.

Well my day sucked. I didnt have any nuts to bolt up the Super 20g so I made 3 trips to the hardware store to find out they were 3/8 24 tpi. In the process of bolting up the manifold I got a nut twisted using a deep well socket and it destroyed the threads. I spent 4 hours today destroying my turbo manifold studs. Pulled the manifold and decided I will take it to a machine shop to remove the busted up stud. Then I am going to get the manifold and the turbo ceramic coated silver. Should look awesome. This is taking forever but its my own fault for breaking my thermostat housing and destroying the thread on my manifold. I am so freaking fed up but since every thing is pulled I am going to get them ceramic powder coated.

Need help solving issues on my setup. Running LNF manifold with k04 with intention of swapping to ZZP EFR in the spring. LNF oil lines custom I/C piping on a Redline. On start up, had an exhaust leak. Been trying for 2 weeks to hunt it down. PD and myself performed the install and made sure everything was correct to the best of our abilities.

The exhaust leak is still present and has gotten worse. I searched for it again today and couldnt find it still. Every possible nut and bolt has been checked and re-checked. I have come to the conclusion that the manifold gasket may have gotten folded somehow and causing the leak or (even worse) the compressor housing itself has a leak.

I cannot build above 9psi for some reason. I have checked every coupling and have found nothing.

The car wont respond to any changes in the tune. The car runs rich and afr flatlines on 10.0 until it forces the pcm into open loop.

On start up and beginning driving, the car is very jerky and sometimes sluggish, possibly due to being so rich. The jerks are very uncomfortable and is a nuisance.

If I have to get a new turbo due to compressor housing leaking, I will be getting one with the power potential I want, within price range.

At this point I am frustrated, disappointed, and tired of the problems. I am being patient because i kno these are part of the process.

Could all be related to the exhaust leak. After seeing someone seafoam their car for the first time this past weekend I'd consider that to try and find an exhaust leak, you'll have plenty of smoke to find out where it's leaking lol.

I can compare your tune vs mine if your interested (04 IRL).

SCMA & CCrunner - what spring are you guys running in your BOVs? its possible that you are seeing a boost spike and getting either surge or flutter.

csskid & gelladega - I made 438whp w/ 180k miles on the car. If you are worried, do compression and leak down test.

CCrunner, send me a pm with your email, I will send a .hpt and log over for you to see if you would like. what injectors/fuel system do you have? FP IRL uses stock fuel system w/60s

I'm honestly not sure what spring I'm running in it, whatever came in the ZZP Kit. I've never fiddled with a BOV before, but I do feel like the problem may be that it's not opening enough. How do I go about adjusting the spring, or lessening the pressure so that it opens and closes easier?

The BOV shouldn't really open under WOT. I'm running a plain spring if I remember correctly, it was sized according to the tial chart and the amount of vacuum I'm pulling at idle (stays closed at idle).
