you could hear the exhaust pitch change significantly on the dyno above a certain maf hertz

Hockeyman's M62 car was really restricted with 2.5"

ported m62 with 2.7 and ATI damper. stage 2 cams, valve springs, E85, long tube header. he has since upgraded to 3" hahn piping with ZZP resonator and QTP race muffler, sounds great and flows a lot better, he picked up quite a bit of midrange

Not enough gains for the trouble probably. Plus you need the exhaust, dumping after the dp would yield no backpressure.

I was thinking about running a cutout and then running stock catback for less noise. This catless with corsa is rediculous

I tried to run a cutout with my Zzp LT header. Ended up hiting the cutout on the ground cuz there's not much of a down pipe. So y would u need a exhaust bigger than 3".

MrB u keep mentioning the muffler being the choke point.
Im running the first gen Zzp exhaust with a magna flow muffler. The muffler Basikly has a 3" pipe running through it with a bunch holes in it. U think its a choke point??

A certain size pipe supports a certain cfm. Not a power level. It's that simple.
Resonator can wreck havoc on a tuned length header.
Read that link^^^

Lets not have a wave of people trying huge exhaust setups again.... That is old news.
