You will be able to see a drop in boost and hear the belt slipping if you have belt slip
Yeah, makes sense. I'll see if I can get that darn belt on there with the pulley boys tool. lol.

You used a stage 2 belt?

I'm trying to find a pulley boys tool now, I had a friend of mine come over and try and compress the tensioner, and he'd get down so far, and the damn wrench would just slip off...

Ahh...big update here...

My Friend came over and beat the **** out of the area more, since it's a lot easier for someone else to whack your car with a hammer than for you to do it, haha.

Primed it already, then painted with Duplicolor Olympic White:

Here's the painted area with the tape and paper towels removed...kinda sharp lines, but what do I care - you'll never see it. It matched very, very well (good enough for being barely visible - not that you would've even seen the primer, either):

Supercharger installed, as well as throttle body:

MUCH more clearance now. I can easily wrap my hand around the pulley with room to spare (Thanks to my friend):

Air intake pipe installed from fender to throttle body:

Belt around all pulleys except tensioner...this is the amount I need the tensioner to go down (not happening thanks to GM's shitty design):

Extended washer pump harness (the thing hanging to the ground):

Routing of washer pump harness as well as extended washer line:

Attaching the new 8-Pin Throttle Body to the 6-Pin wires...

Shrunk (I love these things):

Taped up:

I put loom around two butt connectors (so 3 of those little loom pieces), and then taped all around that. Doesn't look particularly appealing, but it works, and you won't see it:

Pulled the throttle body wires back in the main loom, so I can still route the injector plug nicely, instead of over the valvecover...put loom on it:

Connected to the throttle body (guess my mess up making two wires a little two short somehow turned out good, with a "pre-angled" throttle body connection):

My proposed mounting of my heat exchange coolant reservoir:

Got picture happy...

does the supercharger pulley clear with the belt on?

also hopefully you never have to mess with the maf wiring or you may hate the fact that you used all the same color wiring

Yeah, it does.

What do you mean? It's the stock wiring on the MAF...

So, thinking about it now - I shouldn't need the 3/4" Tee, should I?

I'm using this routing (just with a cobra HE - same concept, though)

I'm trying to determine what would be a better setup...

Should I have two lines running into the reservoir, in from the endplate and out to the in of the heat exchanger?

Or should I run a 3/4" Tee, and just have a fitting on the bottom of the reservoir and the other lines just from out of the endplate to in of the heat exchanger?

Yeah, I don't have a dual pass endplate.

Here's the other diagram, involving the Tee.

nvm...

btw, someone suggested placing the tank inline instead of just having the reservoir there to hold the extra coolant. if i didn't have an option B tank I would go this route

The replacement GM TB connector comes with all white wiring, but you can trace each white wire back to see what color it mates up to.

I am thinking of adding the extra reservoir in line with the ZZP diagram I modified in this thread.

Today's Update.

I feel I got a lot done...getting damn close.

Started by mocking up the cobra heat exchanger:

It fit, just barely (actually rested against the bottom lip of the bumper, but wasn't too bad), so I drilled my holes in the crash bar and bolted it up:

The clearance between the fittings and the AC condenser...not a lot...hmm

Covered the car up cause it was getting dark - it sprinkled for about 5 minutes...

Decided that the way I mounted it originally would suck to connect the heater hose up, if I could do it at all - not to mention, the hoses would have to cross...so I flipped it around, and mounted it much further back, so it has no issues with the front bumper either:

Can't even tell there is a heat exchanger...

Put the 90s on the end of the heat exchanger, connected by some heater hose, and tested for clearance - good to go:

Quick shot of the bracket:

Elbows on, no bumper:

Line from the out of the heat exchanger to the in of the pump is installed:

The crazy Tee fitting, and it's lines...comes out of the endplate (up top), to the tee, which goes (directly) to the heat exchanger in fitting, and (indirectly) to the coolant reservoir...which will serve as the overflow tank, and if it needs more, it should be able to suck it through the hose (if physics works right):

Tee connected up to Heat exchanger:

Some shots of the plumbing:

Cut a hole in the Coolant reservoir for the fitting:

Bought a 3/4" butt connector (if you will), and cut off one end to use for the reservoir:

All RTVd on:

I gotta get this thing done...

looking real good. I wish I had a spare ride to start this project too...but I'd be months and months in the making just to afford all the parts and little costs that arise along the way =P

Keep at it! Really loving all the pictures you're doing.

Thanks! I love documenting everything I do to the car, so I do picture-***** it up.

Update for today...

Didn't really do much today. Ordered the tensioner tool, hopefully that'll be here before the end of the week, but who knows anymore.

My car is filthy...

Modified LSJ engine lift bracket (tensioner tool needs this):

Installed:

Doesn't fit completely flush on the engine-side face, which just means the opening is tilted a little forward - should be fine:

Location of coolant reservoir bracket:

Screwed on:

I would've had the coolant reservoir on, but the RTV didn't hold it enough and the fitting ripped out when I went to put the hose on...I'll have to be careful this next time...

How are you guys hooking up your boost gauges to the boost nipple?

The gauge comes with spaghetti line...

So that skinny ass spaghetti line will fit over the boost nipple?

EDIT: just got the new nipple.

Does it just pull out?

I can't seem to get this boost nipple out of the intake...grr... and since it was kinked, it broke off about 1mm above the intake...

Anyone know how to get it out?
