Question about injectors for you guys...how well do yours sit in the head? It seems like my injectors wont stay in place unless the fuel rail is bolted down. It would seem that the injectors would get to a certain point and then seal into the head but mine don't?

hey jerry, would you like to see how mine fit in? I could make a video of me taking them out and putting them back in so you can see how it differs from yours. Although mine are 60's. Would you rather see 42's?

They seemed to sit in pretty good, or at least the outside ones did...I imagine the middle ones are in, though...I had Lucas #42s, though.

42 plz!

My main concern really is if you feel that they fit snug afer a certain point or if they just kinda sit there with thm pressure from the fuel rail holding them in place...

I don't know about the rest of the 2.2's, but mine have these little grommets that go in first. Then you insert the fuel rail. The fuel rail goes in and all nicely, without any issues for me. My tech friend said to oil the seals on the grommets and injectors before installing.

I had really big O-rings that went around the bottom (kinda like grommets, yes). I oiled those up, as well as the O-rings that went into the rail.

Well, well well...

I've been investigating my original supercharger here now.

The member I bought it from, blue 2.2, says that he didn't install it on their car at any point, because he lost his job. However, he gave me the username of who he bought it from, which is "powerz".

So, I began to look into it...

Here's the original sale thread: https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/parts-66/s-c-kit-more-f-s-120919/

super charger and t/b have been ported and made 17 psi of boost on my car with the 2.7
intake manifold and gasket
new gm stage 2 belt 0 miles
tensioner pulley and bracket with shock
coolant line fill T and cap
42 lb injectors and harness with about 3,000 miles on them
stock H/E pump with 17,000 miles on it . since it was not off my car checked it to make sure and it works great
another part I am not sure what it is called but it has to do with boost control
also have a stock s/c air intake if you need it the black plastic one
I think only other parts needed would be Heat exchanger and pipes well and a tune. I am not sure so ask around there are plenty on here who could tell you $ 700+shipping sold

I dug a little deeper into threads started by Powerz, and found this one: https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/2-0l-lsj-performance-tech-47/supercharger-rotors-112865/

Check out the last post:

Rebuilding a supercharger is not a cheap ordeal...

And then members on MIfbody found these pictures in Powerz' Gallery...

Some of the rotor ends look like they do in the picture, but not the rest...

Now back to who I bought it from...

In the original thread: https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/parts-66/supercharger-parts-151160/

They state:

I'm pretty sure a mechanic would have noticed the marks you can see on the rotor ends...I'll be sure to take pictures of them when I get it off my car.

And also, I recall, they were originally selling it because they needed a new transmission - not because they lost their job, though I'm sure both could've been possible.

The kit also came with a tensioner, Filler-T and cap, a large heat exchanger hose and the full Injector harness - none of which were included...

In the PM to blue 2.2 about this:

I have to reiterate - that supercharger oil I drained was NOT new. New SC oil is clear, and running the car for 5 minutes is not enough to turn it to that murky black/brown that it was in. So either A) the SC oil was never changed like Powerz said it was, or B ) blue 2.2 ran it on his car...

But with the marks on the rotors, I'm wondering if this "powerz" just recoated the rotors, or didn't fix the bearings, which are likely shot...

Anybody have any observations I didn't catch?

The big question is: who screwed who and/or who's lying to me.

That is a bad situation.

The person I bought my supercharger from was very picky and described every detail about the supercharger and said not to worry that he just changed the oil.

I got it and took the paint off with Acetone and then shipped it out to the powdercoater. When I got it back I decided to change the oil and the oil was black.

Now, did the person I bought it from lie to me or did it get black from going through the powedercoating heating process?

looks like powerz screwed blue2.2, who than ran into monatary issues and sold it unknowingly of what the damages were..since he never installed it, although idk how u miss all that damamge on the rotors, could be blue passed down the loss to you...and he tried to make up for his own loss

Then it's pretty much final that powerz screwed the both of us...

So I was talking to my friend - and he was telling me that at WOT, I should be running around 12.5 AFR?

...no wonder I was popping lean codes. It was running stoich everywhere...and about 18 sometimes when I'd close the blade...

no you should be richer than that

my target AFR is 11.7 and I hit around 11.7-12.0 under boost

I don't get why someone would sell a rebuilt SC with "0" miles on it in the first place...thats suspicious

i have a similar situation but not as expensive to replace...I've had to do the hammer mod on my IC pump like 6 times in the month I've had it

I kept trying to talk all of you guys out of getting a used one. They are selling used for like 40 and I got a new one for $89.95. It is well worth it.

Vince told me 11.5-12.5 at WOT is what was optimal.

Yeah, I don't want a lean-out, especially in the winter.
