I have a cavalier with a water/meth setup and the cobalt/ion supercharger parts on my car. I've made a best pass of 12.77@112mph and I've been contemplating running a distribution block and drilling the manifold after the intercooler cores with one nozzle in each cylinder.

My concerns are that the nozzles would be very close to the combustion chamber and might not allow for proper atomization. Also a change in injector would be difficult to change, more expensive and change are limited as you'd increase in multiples of 4.

For anyone else running water/meth. Does it actually cool your supercharger? Since I installed mine, even when I ran 14 second passes or 12 second passes the charger has always been hot to the touch. I've only ever ran a 3gph nozzle so maybe I should go bigger? I've heard others with the m45 s/c setup on a cavalier that their charges stay cool with the water/meth.

Longer post than I intended, any help is appreciated.
I haven't scene anyone have any problems with puddling even when using 6 gph nozzles. With the amount of heat these superchargers make and with the nozzle sized properly you will not have any of these problems.

As for the multiple nozzles after the intercooler. I wouldn't bother with that at all. For one, it's going to be considerably more expensive as you will need a distribution block and three additional nozzle assemblies.

Two, even if you place the nozzle just before the distribution block your going to have problems with fluid siphoning out of the hoses every time you pull your foot out of it. Depending on how many inches of hose you have going from the distribution block to each nozzle you may also experience a noticeable delay the next time the system is activated.

Three, based on some other direct port experiments we have tried. The performance wasn't any better at all. Since these superchargers aren't moving any fuel through them and only air. Spraying the water methanol injection before the supercharger is really helpful as it is cooling down the rotors and the case and substantially reducing the discharge temperatures. In turn the intercooler is now receiving a much cooler air charge, then further reducing the air charge temperature.

If you decide to go with a water methanol injection system just go with a singke nozzle before the throttle body.

Let me know if you have any other questions or how i can help.

well in my case i was having some trouble tuning for WOT....it would lean out to about 12.8 by about 5.8krpm...now if i add meth into this equation and i dont tune for it, it should richen my mix up by about .7-1 point. Which would put me at about 12.0 or so...which is still a bit lean...i havent retuned yet but im working on it...but if i tune for it...i would see something better where i can actually take advantage of my 7.5krpm redline...is this correct?
btw im an LS with Turbo, built head, cams, forged pistons/rods....and im planning on making at least 300whp
now my other question is
where would i hook the nozzle up, is it the same as the s/c guys that hook it up before the TB?
First of all. I would fix the lean condition right away or risk hurting the motor. I would pull the plugs and check them to see if they are showing any signs of melting or excessive heat on the grounding strap.

Yes, you can count on the water methanol dropping your A/F about .5-1.0 drop when using a 50/50 mix and depending on what size nozzle you use. For the type of power you plan on making I would go with at least a 5 gph single nozzle before the throttle body or a staggered nozzle arrangement with one 3 gph nozzle before the throttle body and one 3 gph nozzle before the turbo for the best results.

Give me a call directly at 801.447.2559 and I would be more then happy to explain how to tune for this and what to expect from the water methanol injection system.

well my car is currently not running as i have changed out my pistons and head and all the good stuff...so i need a new tune...so im not worried about the lean condition right now....that just a tuning issue i was having with trifecta....i was the 2nd turbo he tuned and we didnt finish the tuning process....so now i need a new tune.

hmmm that staggered arrangement sounds like fun...that way it would cool my turbine and feed cooler air and then it would cool down before it enters the manifold....i like the sound of that setup.....but i need to get my car running first before i can do any of this

Yeah, the staggered nozzle arrangement works great. With applications such as yours it's by far the best nozzle arrangement to go with. If you would like to discuss this in more detail or if you have any other questions feel free to give me a call directly at 801.447.2559. At that time I can find out more info about your engine.

i have been using the -20 washer fluid from wal mart mixed with a 12oz bottle of heet
when i refilled the other day i used the red bottle of heet because they were out of the yellow and i really
needed a refill. is there any risk of running the red heet rather than the yellow?

No it won't hurt the water methanol injection systems. I believe the red Heet is simply isopropanol alcohol. If your trying to make a 50/50 mix add 2-3 bottles.

Of course. If you search on this post you will find most members use -20 degree below zero windshield washer fluid.

Let me know if you have any other questions or how I can help.

you shouldn't mix the washer fluid with water you should add more meth to it depending on the mixture you are looking for

i'm not sure exactly the percentage i use but i'm tuned for 1 bottle of heet which is 99% methanol mixed with 1 gallon of -20 peak washer fluid from wal-mart

Hey Cole,

Yeah we've always had the rear trunk mount system with stainless steel hose option available. Our stainless steel hose comes with the hose fittings already swedged on so there is no assembly required either.

Give me a call and I'll hook you up.

When you mention that a 50/50 mix are you refering to the mix by volume or by weight?

do u have any information on spraying after the sc. found a kit that has a spacer that goes under the supercharger and didnt know what kinda of effects that would yield rather than before the supercharger. also would it be any benefit to spray both before and after?

Yes, I have some experience with spraying after the supercharger with the 03-04 Ford Cobra's which are essentially very similiar to the Cobalts in the sense that they come equipped with the larger Eaton M112 supercharger and are also equipped with an air to water intercooler.

Give me a call directly at 801.447.2559 if you would like to discuss this in detail. In short, while it did have some slight advantages in some area's but in the end it ultimately did not perform any better performances wise then spraying before the unit. Matter of fact, there are considerable advantages to spraying before the supercharger. Give me a call if you would like to discuss this in more detail.

I have seen somebody mixes heet into washer fluid, my question is: is that needed to get the right mixture or is that just something added in?

All you need is a stage 1 type system with a single nozzle. We have them on sale right now. If you have questions or would like to order one feel free to give me a call directly at 801.447.2559.

This isn't required. Its just something you can do if you want to pump up the methanol content of your windshield washer fluid.
