Painting the upper dash
I just got done painting my pillars and im looking into painting the headliner and dash black. I want the dash to be a smooth gloss black. As you may know the dash is not smooth and in debating if i want to sand it or bondo it. It was a pain in the ass to sand the pillars and the dash is a much larger area. Am i wasting my time with the bondo or should i man up and just sand it all? I know im going to have to sand the bondo anyway, but it will be much easier than sanding hard plastic.
prime it with 3-5 coats, and wet sand before u paint. paint it 5-6 coats and wet sand every 2 coats, and clear coat it with like 7 coats. when wet sanding in between coats use 400-600 grit.
also, to take off ur dash, take the a-pillars off then remove the trim going across the glove box, radio, ect... now the very very very front is just clipped on. yank it off. theres a bunch of screws. unscrew them. same thing with under the trim. oh n be careful around the airbag. take a screw driver and pop most of the cover off. idk how to get this off, so i just left it. i hope that helps.
EDIT: lol, so i posted before i read the thread. u have the same problem as me. i guess we're both stumped. lol.
