These are what I was talking about. Now do you know if that is a truely stock f23? Becasue if it is, that is why I want to know, it would be awsome to have a PROVEN tranny. And me not being to smart with trannies, what would the swap consist of as far as fab work?

I know that they have other sorts of problems. Shift Forks, iirc. There has been a thread or two about it on GMSC. One of the Cavi guys has been through a few.

Now it may blow the first time out, if it does, well then we will talk about what will be best to do.
For drag racing... there's no denying really that an Auto Swap is going to be your fastest way down the 1320. I know Paul had one rigged to work with the LNF for sale a while back. Don't know if he still has it or not though.

Like I said, look up Kennyspec on CSSU. He posted there about it. Its been a few years since he did it.

I don't wanna do it either... but evidently, "there's no calling for a built trans in this community".

I had a person interested in sending one but I feel he is looking for more than what I am willing to offer in return. The profit margin on low volume parts like this is slim so I will not be able to give away a free gearset. I am willing to discount to a person that sends a transmission in but I cannot guarantee when or how much.

If you find anyone that is willing to donate a damaged core ( I pay shipping) we can still proceed. At this time I am not willing to purchase a transmission and do all of the r&d and be left sitting with a bunch of parts. I hope you understand our position.

Let me know,

Thanks

John

The black cav in the pics is mine. It has a stock f23 with an OBX lsd. It is also making more torque (500ft/lbs) than the blue cav with the welded diff.

This winter I will be swapping an f23 in my turbo swapped 06 ss. I will try and make a how to!

F23 M35. Whatever.
I wonder how much a different ratio set of final gears would run?

I was expected around $1000, regardless, but I was thinking of the Quaife gearset + a Final from these guys... So, I'm sure I am thinking a lot more than you were, either way.

Edit, I suppose it might make more sense to contact Quaife about a different ratio, but, they don't seem too interested in the US versus Europe.

The deal is, guys, that we need twn deposits of 50% in order for Shep to make the first ten sets. Up to this point I haven't had anyone fully commit to anything.

Everything is ready to go minus the ten people

Yes it's not bad AT ALL. Spread the word guys most people that sub'd to this thread haven't even seen the price since it was released. Half of that is so reasonable

Sorry I skipped to the end of this thread, what was the 50% that we would have to pay?? My trans took a dump on me last week, but I think it was just the input shaft seal. I bought a new trans from Schram auto parts in Michigan for $650 shipped to Arkansas. Looking to get new gear sets for the old transmission so it can handle the twincharge kit that I will be putting on later this fall.

Ima keep this in mind, I had to go back to the first page to find the price, you did not post it in any of the later posts Also, it sucks cuz it sounds like the first ten guys have to buy at regular price, and the next few get a 250 discount lol, and 50% of what, the asking price or asking price + install, and we have to ship him a trans correct? Im assuming up front he has no cores.

You are exactly correct. I think your a bit confused on the deposit part. What you are referring to as "the asking price" is the cost Plus installation.

Once your deposit is made your exactly half way there. Yes you either need a spare or if your car can sit for a while either way

So, are these gears the factory gear ratios or any difference at all? Also, how much more power will they hold? And to put them in the tranny, that's something I'd hafta do on my own right? It'd take too bloody long to send a tranny to them and get it back if that's how it works.. maybe in the winter if I get a beater, although I can't imagine the cost of shipping a tranny back n forth stateside. Might be easier for me to drive down there and get them to do it on site lol.. just my thoughts at this point.
Still interested, but if they're ready right now, timing is bad with all the other things I have on my plate at this point in time.. and if I do a tranny upgrade, I'll be doing a clutch upgrade as well since it's being torn down anyways. Need 3k then, approximately.
I have read the entire post in the past, but apparently it was updated on the first page about price.. didn't even know that and just happened to look at the most recent post tonight to see if anything has happened with this. Just saying...
