For discussion of all things Powell!!
Just hit them with a rust proofer every winter.
Just emailed john and gloria about getting the f35 stage 1 mount. I'll be removing the ottp mounts and replacing with stock in the rear and stage 1 in the front

the zinc plating on Powergrids is really a cad plating I think, and it stands up better than zinc on the powergrids. Salt screws everything thats why I no longer drive the RL in winter and I have replaced all the parts that did get salt covered the one winter i used it.
I now use 10.9 cad plated bolts in our sway bar hardware packages. I tried stainless, which resists corrosion very well, but the bolts are as weak as grade 5 and more brittle so stopped.
The wntrbtr2 a SAAB 9-5 is stellar for corrosion resistance. But I wash it a lot in winter, and I oil it underneath prior to winter. The rear muffler will probably succumb first to salt, but the main system is good quality stainless and stands up well. LNF downpipes stand up well to winter I have found...

That ain't cool. This thing is going to be a winter beater. No choice about it. Guess I'll go Moogs then.
I'm glad i found out about the powergrids not being any good for winter before I picked up a pair.
Also OP you might want to update the price for F35 mounts, they've increased just ordered them yesterday and Gloria broke the news about the price increase, $175 plus shipping

thats F23 Erik...you have a TC ?Gloria mixed up your order. The composite mounts (F23) took a big price increase due to cost of GM part. The all steel F35 are still the same. $110.00 I think you may have a Refund coming lol. Let me know via email...Glroia is travelling today....I also think its wrong to say powergrids dont stand up to salt, they do way better than stock but the cad plated rod does tarnish and lose its luster is all; cosmetic

Current update July 17 2013 on PCV upgrades, and status of current hardcore and xXx rear sway bar orders. Tx.
There are issues with no vacuum while in boost for sure , understand that as far as GM are concerned the system is designed with the stock K04 to maintain vacuum levels even under boost in the neighborhood of -2 03 -3 kPa. which is .5 to .8 in hg.
Two things are clear to me. #1 the stock K04 with GMst1 or better on the race track is under boost so much, that there is no vacuum under boost. I have not measured this, but based on the oil backing up the oil drain return, its happening. Keep in mind that in a 2 minute lap at a typical road race track you are at least 1 minute 20 seconds under boost.. at least.
#2 with the way the aftermarket turbos are configured, thare is little chance of the pcv system pulling a vacuum under boost.
SO. Diesel engines dont typically have vacuum in the crank case, so oil drain lines from the seperator need a check valve. OUt folks tracking their cars with a K04 need a check valve. Folks with aftermarket whatever s256/ZFR/ et al need this as well.
I am working on it. The Fabi is away in Syracuse at a big hot rod meet, ,Ronnie my gear cutting machinist is due to go out on holiday, and I am having a hard time locating a mann hummel check valve ( MH recommend this for diesel oil return seperator systems)
Let me repeat to be very clear; there is sufficient blow by gasses in the crank case that oil will go back up the dipstick tube drain back vent hose, into the oil seperator.
This is where I am at; contact via email is best, and I am trying as hard as I can to get it all done as we find out more. Normal non track folks pretty much have no issues at all.
PS the powdercoaterr did a hatchet job on his finger with a hedge trimmer and his 2 i/c is on holiday this week so those folks waiting patiently ( or not) for sway bars my apologies, we are late with hardcore and triple X bars. Also the humidity is so high the moment you blast metal it rusts in about an hour just sitting. wow.
I expect Tuesday all the bar orders will be shipped and for the PCV upgrades, i should have the check valve system figured out next week ; again , email me if you are in that club- Sox fan is for sure....also Kevin J and his ZFR also.....
and they said this would be easy lol

Any chance you can send my TCABs? I told Gloria to include them with the bar but I've been waiting to install my YYZ's and Konis until the TCABs are here.... Thanks!

I always thought there wasn't a point in rotated mounts for an auto since the axles are already in line. How much is it for F23 rotated mounts now? I want them badly but don't know if I really want to spend as much as they are when I've yet to install poly tranny mounts, which are still sitting in the box I got them in.
