Whats the old one?

 

so this kid in north dakota is trying to tellin me his wrx *n/a engine* could stomp on my ss.....He has some mods done to it like intake exhaust headers and what not but no turbo...He says hes puttin down 280 to the wheels

 

WRX's have turbos.

 

No such thing as a "n/a wrx". That's just called either an Impreza or a 2.5RS.

 

And they're dog **** slow.

I can't tell if you're joking or not? If so, sarcasm success. If not, yes, all Impreza WRX's have turbos. The Impreza 2.5RS/2.5i is N/A.

The WRX has always come standard with a GT4202R bolted onto a 2.5L Rotary Engine. Nothing new there. I just wish they weren't FWD.

 

Yes they are lol.........................have had past exp. w/one of those & I tried just waving the guy to keep on w/his day but he kept pacing w/me. So I did 3 beeps real quick & I never seen him again. I know nothing to brag about but I am just sayin they are "dog **** slow"

 

They are slow but the 90's body style (GC8) is one of the best chassis's to build a racecar on. Great vehicle dynamics, easy accomodation for AWD (since it was), sub 2700 lbs stock, and a spacious engine bay capable of housing up to but not limited to 6 cylinder turbo boxer engines. And needless to say it won a few rally championships.


Its the car i get my forum name from and if I had half a brain I would have taken the sti drivetrain out and put it in my old GC8.

 

bahahahaha, what are you talking about? WRX's came with a inline 6 supercharged motor until 2006, then they switched to the 2.5L rotary.

Tell him you'll race him from a 40roll for $1000. Even if it DOES have 280awhp... you'll wax that ass.

When I was S/C'd with 265whp... I waxed my friend's Hawkeye WRX all the time. I know he had COBB Stg2, catback, exhaust... a few other goofy things, iirc. He was making something like 280awhp.

We went from like 30mph with me in second (way out of the SS/SC powerband) and him brake boosting. He even jumped out a little bit before the start giving him a definite advantage... and I STILL reeled him back in and put like 2 or 3 on him by 115-120mph.

ya i told him id race him for some money if he wanted he said he will once summer comes around cause im not tryin to crash ahah...Plus one of his friends said hes gonna buy a turbo kit and have it installed...At which point i should have a all new turbo setup also

I wouldn't personally race in the middle of winter either, but I'll bet he comes up with some other excuse in the summer lol

 

Weren't they quad charged at one point? One centri, a twinscrew, manifold turbo and rear mount turbo?

 

I wouldn't mind having a 22B, I always wanted one to engine swap & stripped down but I couldn't afford it nor do I have the tools to do it I would have to park it @ a buddies shop & pay him to work on it there.

 

I have lots of 22B parts in my garage. Off one that had the Subaru world record for the pikes peak hill climb back around 2000.

 

You should mount them on the wall in show cases lol, but seriously if I were to go after a subi I would want either that or an STi. My buddies have a lot of fun in their cars, the one ran a 12.9 in his stock which I know isn't record breaking but is a good time for stock in the 1/4 mile. Lake County Speedway has drifting there & I know a few guys that go there & beat on their nissans lol. I wish I had money & a rwd car thoug because drifting interests me more then drag racing.

 

The last 22B i saw for sale ended up going for $80k

 

Greg, come on I told you that it was an old 67 Chevelle, all black. I just wish that I had time to work on that one to get it finished.

 

O haha I honestly don't remember anyone mentioning a 67 Chevelle. But Im forgetful.
