After 1,400ish miles, I tried 24psi today. 3rd gear held all the way to redline, hit 4th gear and slipped away. I'm talking to James right now to exchange it for a stage 5 hopefully. I'm only putting like 11deg timing into the tune, it's flowing around 45lb/min of air which is great for such low boost, but that shouldn't be a lot of torque on 93. It definitely won't handle e47 torque. But the car felt great minus the slipping.....
So probably a pressure plate self adjustment issue on my particular kit or clamping force issue. Most likely going to have to come out..... I am not looking forward to this again..... I'll keep updated.

Sadly I have heard of this before. I haven't heard a ton of bad stuff about the south bend or omiotecs favorite-spec3+
Yeah it seems random, as my stage 3 has the exact same pressure plate. You can see how far it is adjusted too, the stage 4+ plate I got just had an issue. It's an LUK plate, just increased clamp force, so it may have been the plate manufacturer error not KY.
How many miles of not boost did you do for the clutch break in? When I did my LDK swap I put in a south bend stage four clutch. I did 1,500 not boost and baby the **** out of the car. Mine grabs great and has been holding great for 12k miles.
I'm going a full 1K miles on this bad boy before I do anything crazy. I've done my best to keep RPMs low and shifting as often as possible + rev match downshifting.
I hope the clutch continues to hold for you 08VRSS
I beat the crap out of the car coming home from work on the highway. 27psi of boost, car feels much faster than on the zfr and smooth as butter coming into boost, 2nd gear is kinda violent though when boost hits lol. Not once did it slip in 2nd 3rd or 4th. I think it's finally grabbing now, just needed a ton of load maybe. Fingers crossed it holds now. Red and green lines in top row are mph and rpm.
James had mentioned it's all about the load you put on it.

2nd is completely useless. 30 psi and I spin so bad I hit rev limit almost right away
Looking good man! Happy to hear she's holding. I hope mine holds when the time comes because my WR3 hits hard AF (vacuum-21psi in .64 seconds) and I may need to neuter it a bit.
Are your cams corrected on your scanner, or? Values look interesting...
1,700 miles on it boosting 28psi (30psi just slips) on 93 octane. Clutch will slip for a sec and then hold....or just slip completely in 3rd and 4th.
I called Chris, the owner of KY Clutch. He wants to build me a custom clutch setup based on a stage 5 pressure plate and ceramic pucked disk to hold anything i can throw at it.... He said he'll start building it now and call him back in two days and he'll ship it to me with a return label to ship back the 4+....
Even though I have to swap it out, I'd say thats awesome for them to stand behind their product like that. Chris and James have been very helpful through this.
So thats whats happening. Chris said that the full face for some reason (most likely a pressure plate auto adjustment failure) just is not grippin, either i have too much low end torque, which i doubt, or too quick of a spool on the turbo. I think its just a full face clutch disk doesn't have the surface area needed to hold the kind of power I'm wanting out of it.
I hope T-man's 4+ is good as they haven't had any issues with the 4+ thus far. Only time will tell, I hope it works better for you than me, bc i feel terrible recommending it before when this happens.
Well just got off the phone with Chris, owner of ky (really great guy BTW). Hes sending me today a 6 puck ceramic disk (similar to stage 3 which I've had) but with a custom made pressure plate usually used on stage 5 setups. He said it should be good for mid 500s torque.
Looking forward (not really lol) to getting it in there next weekend now so i can finally switch to E47 and make some big power.
Nice that they are wanting to help. I hope it holds. Is there really that much more contact with a 6 puck verses full faced? Or is it the clutch surface material?
Figured there would be more pressure, but I just figured you had more contact with a full faced clutch. Makes sense though. If you use the same pressure on the pp.
Yeah i was kinda skeptical of the whole full face disk idea. Even TTR said they decided not to do it bc it wouldn't hold the tq. In a milder setup it would be great, the pedal feel is prefect and I really don't want to give up the wonderful driveability but..... because race car.
I could see this 4+ i have now holding maybe 25psi on a mild 93 octane tune on a S257, not more than that though.
I think this custom one they're sending me will be a slightly higher clamping force than most other ones they offer, coupled with the 6 puck ceramic disk. They said it will definitely hold mid 500s tq. I hope it doesn't have the old high pedal release the stage 3 did but oh well, i drove it daily for like 3 years. The pedal may be heavier too but thats also expected. I drove my T56 heavy clutches, I know what heavy is lol.
Going to experiment a bit with a hallman evolution rx, and maybe give my hybrid ebc/mbc idea a shot, worked great on previous builds and I like trying out stuff.
Replacement clutch is here, stage 5 pressure plate with 6 puck ceramic disk. Compared side by side with my old stage 3 pressure plate, the fingers on the pressure plate are way higher for more clamping force. Friday I'm gonna install it, hopefully everything goes smoothly.
