The guy who just posted stuck a 2.9 TVS ( the right part for sure) on a stock LSJ with stock T bottle aftercooling. That will be disappoint.

I know that there's a ton of work to be done. I am not expecting some kind of freak performance upgrade however I found it stupid to dump $$$ into the eaton to get bored again in a month or 2. Now I have the most expensive part out of the way and can start pecking at the smaller stuff that needs to be done. What would be helpful is to explain what you mean by the cooling issue? I know cooling is a must with any SC build however aside from allowing air to flow more freely through the intake and exhaust I'm quite unsure where to go next. Advice would be greatly appreciated.

I understand that it takes work. I am by no means trying to state that it's the quickest thing on earth. The girlfriend would have killed me if i dumped $6K into the car all at one time.

Dual pass and option b is all you need imo. I went from stock blower to tvs 2.9/e47 and let me tell you it is a damn good time

I didn't figure it was much. From the Logs my IAT2's where higher but still lower than most 2.8 m62's. That's on my list of things to do I figured it was more important to let the thing breathe a bit before I went and did cooling. I've got to sell some parts on here so depending on how the lady feels I might go dual pass shortly.

You really don't need any cooling mods unless you're rippin the twisties. Wouldn't put it too high on your priority list if you need other things unless you plan to go auto x it soon.

Not at all. I didn't think iat's looked terrible logging last night. I don't want to set any sort of records with this, more just build a fun daily that has some guts behind it. The next items on the list are the 3" exhaust as well as a ported head. Does that sound like a reasonable move?Like I said I've got a ring to buy as well as a house within the next 6 months. The house is taken care of however the girl sees that I just dumped 3K into the car and she's wondering why I can't do that for the ring as well haha.

thats why its an internet. You will be fine. You need option B. I have a couple left at 150 ( GM has raised the price on the coolant tanks etc) and my kit is the most complete bar none.... You can run the stock aftercooler, and you can duck dual pass although its an advantage, on a dollars versus performance just getting the air out with Option B is a good start.

To suggest you dont need to get rid of the stock T bottle is foolhardy. That and a good pump; I would buy a new IC pump automatically when putting something like a TVS on the car. TVS is great, but pulling spark due to inadequate aftercooling is not good.

I planned on doing the TVS, option but, duel pass and intake. Then whatever I can get to help wheel hop/handling. Have headers and catback already. What else would you recommend? Will be on 93, 60lb injectors will be fine right?

Are you just going stock pulley? Typically 60's are fine. I've been logging on the 2.9" and my 80's are nowhere near maxed on 93. I'd just do the airbox mod. Same effect but much cheaper if you still have the option.

Not sure yet what pulley I want to run. I don't want to get 60's if I'll max them out in the near future. I thought 80's were really only good if running e85.

I plan on writing an e85 tune in the future so I ended up with them to have some wiggle room. They don't seem to have any issues so far (I'm about 1/2 of the way through tuning). And I guess that's where my next upgrade will be then.

My IDCs with 80# are at 115% by 5K on e85.

Go bigger if you plan on head/cam work on the TVS they are very thirsty.

I ran the TVS on the 2.7 and 2.6 with nothing but a dual pass, with the stock T filler and never had issues for over 3 years. I was on E85 though, and that leaves a huge cushion for safety. I don't think I'd personally drop below a 2.9 or so on straight 91, and I'd maybe throw some more cooling at it. Luckily I don't have to worry about that scenario.

Going to run the one that came with it for now, will drop it down after I have duel pass and some other stuff. To be safe, trying to find out if anyone near me has worked with tuning cobalts before.
