Anyone have a clue what the difference is between the injin and those cheap ass ones selling on ebay? They look nearly identicle. They don't have the breather hose connection though.
Not that I'm serious about it, but it would be interesting to hack on.
I personally am looking at RD fabs. But $60 to ship from NY to OH???? unless they only ship 2-day or something... which I doubt. Sounds more like "padding" to pay for the guy packing the boxes.

And as far as folks wanting to use the stock air box... I think that is half the problem of the stock system.
The only real spot I think lots of water gould get in is the gap under the headlight. If you want an airbox I would do a DIY with a rubbermade tub or something:
Cut a big hole in the bottom of it, slip it on the intake tube (up side down) and seal the gap. Then cut some holes in the lid (now the bottom) and pop it on. That way in the summer, if you felt like it, you could just pull the lid off and leave the bottom open. Don't know if it could even work with the space given or if they make containers that big, but it's a thought.

Yeah, I don't think I'm going to be putting any Tupperware on my car either. Wouldn't want any stray bits of meatloaf fouling the MAF.
Anyone have a part number for an AEM dryflow that will fit the K&N intake?

Well, from what I've read on here the Cobalts don't really like oiled filters and if possible I'd like to avoid a CEL. It's not that I don't trust the K&N, I just want to keep my picky car happy.

K&N is the best no doubt. Comes pre-oiled. To clean follow K&N instructions, wash it out, lightly spray with K&N oil, set it in the sun to dry, re-install. Most folks use too much oil contaminating the MAF sensor. Too much oil is not a good thing...

I could see if you over oiled a filter that might happen........but these things last for so long anyway, I'm probably just going to buy a new filter instead of re-oiling it.

I have the Fujita F5, and although it performs well I would not recommend buying it because of poor fitment.
After about 5000 km it rubbed against the frame of the car enough to slice through the intake.
