(scroll down a bit)

Steve do you have the stock exhaust manifold in place?;
this is what Chris has;

is a great looking part... the dimple I made in Chris's won't affect anything (other than the coolant tube) either...

only sold as black with yellow trim - they're really nice looking though...

I just prefer carpeted mats, so unless it's snowy or swampy out, I want carpeted mats...

here's what the ones from that add look like;

since the guy said his car came with them I'd assume he had all four, but the fronts & rears are sold separately.

well see - you taught me something! ~ I didn't know you had any of that...

how long ago did you install those?

was your best posted E/T (from the 2009 WCCM) with those parts?

LINK

if so, I'd hope you could do better (which should be motivation to go to RC more!! )

For comparison, here's a friend in his old SS-2.4/5spd (only CAI)

YouTube - Mikes best 15 72

he tells me that the same setup on his 2.4l/auto was several tenths slower...

  • good driver
  • ideal conditions
  • 5spd car

the first point wasn't a knock - just being blunt;
the second point is to try to push home what I'm often saying about "density altitude".. real altitude & density altitude makes more of a difference than many people think.

If you look on his you tube videos, he has one of his car even on the dyno;

He didn't do jack squat to his cars because they were both leased - and the CAI could be swapped back when returning the car;
I have no doubt he's being honest - I first met this guy through the Firebird club;
he was the first person (who wasn't family) that I gave a ride in my car with, and to date the only person (again, not being family) who I handed over my keys to...

FYI: in all, excluding myself, only three people have driven my car.

agreed.

FYI: I'm the sole person to have posted a response to his video - so you can look for any of my videos from there too

you could PM him to see if he can recall the best he was able to pull in his SS-automatic car; iirc he said the auto really made the engine seem gutless ~ he might even have a video that he could post from his automatic car as a point of comparison.

you can also check for other SS-auto cars to see what they're running... but comparing to cars running at RC would be ideal.

Well running this year is out of the question. and jon last year was just an intake, forgot to adjust tire pressures and was sitting at about 120* coolant all day. And I wasn't launching the way I should have been. All in all a rough estimate I should have been around a 15.9 if I had run properly.

Oh and those times are with everything installed including my spare tire

2/10ths might be pushing it...

I too run my cars without any kind of weight reduction.

nah add in the excessive amount of heat, not launching the way i normally do (peddling it off the line, didn't want to have any massive break downs) and not adjusting tire pressures is easily 2/10th's of a second

sorry i just wanted to be honest, it will not help you with anything except a space filler, save for a wideband then you will have it for tuning

i think they're for monitoring air/fuel or exhaust gas temps and what not so that you can tune better... but I'm a total newbie when it comes to any of that stuff...

here's a decent looking link I just found...

Tech Page

why would you buy one of those - save your money - if you get pickles to do your tuning he should be able to datalog and set you up.
