I'll be at Cordova! I expect to be running test and tune, but likely wont run midnight mayhem since the staging line seriously takes 2 hours to get through. If you want, I can PM you my number and we can meet up there somewhere.

Not sure if you saw me drive my buddy's EVO X, my first time sitting in the driver's seat was 50' before the water box. I bogged it bad at the line and still clocked a 14.4@105mph hahah.

Was that the Gray EVO X? I think I saw one run, and it wasn't the best... so it may have been your run, haha jkjk. I would be afraid of breaking it though. Did you see the EVO VIII that was running really quick? I think he started running about 11, IDK what time you left. that thing was shittin and gittin! Oh how I wish I had AWD to launch with, but not the weight to hold me back, lol.

Some of you guys should come down to Wrenches on Saturday nights. It's just a real informal meet-n-greet with the bonus that sometimes some of the fastest cars in the area stop in. Way better than standing around on some bridge with a bunch of dinks.

I also have an '09, and you'd be the first other 08/09 I've ever met in the area.

Yeah, gray EVO X. The one that smelled of burnt clutch; thats why I bogged it bad at the line - tried to go easy on the clutch and went too easy.

Red EVO VIII? I heard there were two there. I've seen them before. The car I like to watch is the white 300ZX with the Skyline motor swap... I saw it trap 129 but my friends said they saw it go 140mph. I think he brings it out just to play and try to take the domestic vs import title.

Had to be me. I wondered if that was you but you were way late.

 

I heard from a guy I know that you were up there this past weekend.. I guess he had the only honda.. lol

I would stop up but i am still working on the transmission issue..

 

Thanks for the invite. I'll definitely come down one of these weekends. I just picked up my Imperial Blue 09 SS yesterday, drove 20 miles and got a FLAT! Caught a nail somewhere. Was easily plugged, but its a pain in the a** having to take a good wheel/tire off the rear, put it on the front to clear the Brembos, then put the spare on the rear. Going to St. Louis this weekend for my 15 yr High School reunion, so maybe in a few weeks I'll head down.

yeah, we had a tundra come in with not a single smooth surface on the passenger side.. soo much hail damage.. even his trailer gate was severly damaged... btw what is the et of a stock ss/tc? all i have is a k/n drop in... and lowered...

You should be able to get a 13.7 if you are pretty used to the car and running on the strip. If its your first time at the strip in your car, look for a mid 14. It all depends on which track too?

 

Well on Aug. 16th at Earlville they're having their annual "Drag City" event, lots of nice cars. Basically a Test and Tune.....

Of course there is rain in the forcast but we might get lucky and the rain will hold off till later....

 

I saw a new black Corvette ZR1 today on Boyson Rd. in CR. I almost got in a damn wreck staring at it! lol Serious... It was badass.

 

So I got my Imperial Blue SS/TC, drove it to St. Louis and back, and ran into HAIL!!! I was near Newton when all hell broke loose. Fortunately it was small enough that there was no hail damage. I'm a body shop manager anyway so would be no big deal to repair, but what a pain in my .... I'm planning on running ath DMVR's autocross in Des Moines 9/20 if anyone is interested.
