I've seen that TC around but nope don't know who it is

SPD did you ever get your fuel issue figured out or get your CEL checked? Let me know if you need any help, I've got an 05 also.

Yea the engine started making noise monday on my way to work and on the way home it backfired wicked hard in 2nd. So I took it in, was running fine but it sounded like hell, sounded like a broken valve. Glad it wasnt. Turns out my timing chain tensioner broke and since the chain was loose it bent a cam sprocket causing the random backfire. Tech at the dealer made it sound like it had been going bad and it would cause my lack of power, chain would turn but not the valves but he didnt think it would cause anymore damage. Hopefully car will be done tomorrow. The CEL is a plugged sensor on the cat but im changing the fuel filter, spark plugs, and air filter, maybe even injectors just for good measure. That silver TC and I have a fun time when I go to work, too bad she turns off before the open part of the highway.

Welp I can't sleep...

I now know of 3 05 Victory Red's in the area but mine is the only one without a sunroof
My buddy up by Waterloo has one but he's made it ugly and cant seem to stop wrecking it. Tinted windows, HUGE SS vinyl on the back window, Megan racing exhaust, black halo's and some useless emergency lights because he's 'a volunteer fireman.' Light is your's a G85?

I'm currently deployed and my SS is leaving my local shop and heading up to my moms in Cedar Rapids for winter storage.. So here is a heads up if anybody sees a victory red/evo mod and completely de badged TC in need of a major driver mod.

I went to the dealer once for my power steering. Only took about 3 days. There's probably not alot of requests for cam bolts though. I travel thru sometimes at 330pm depending on how work is going...

lol... I'll do that. Matter of fact I may have seen it already driving by the Best Buy..... I was thinking of how it's time for the beaters to start making their way out to the streets.

Only a few days left till it sits in the garage for a spell. I don't usually drive it when it snows, but I'll bring it out if its sunny and dry...

unfortunatly i dont really have a choice maybe eventually i can own a beater, and mine is still in the shop. Because of warranty issues i cant just get the parts from crate engine depot, its gotta come direct from gm.

CED can get GM parts. I bought my throttle body, stage 2 belt, stage 3 hub, exhaust and brakes. They all came in GM boxes with the GM part numbers.

Now of course most dealers won't install parts you bought from somebody els and they may void warranty if the work is done els where so ....... this is more reasons why I hate dealers.....

Hope you get your car back soon....

Gave the dealer a call this evening, said the parts were in and were being installed, should have it back tomorrow, which is awesome since I have the day off, hope it stays dry so I can enjoy a nice cruise.

should be dry by this afternoon, but that wind.... OMG, I'm glad I had the car in the garage last night. This morning I found a big tree limb in my driveway where the car sometimes sits.

That wind is just crazy. Lucky you did park the car inside. Got my car back today. 1 broken valve, 6 bent valves, a burnt spark plug and a timing chain tensioner later it runs.
When I picked it up the dealer gave me this long speech about my car being equiped with a rev limiter and if the you hit the rev limiter too often it will bend and break valves, which being somewhat mechanicly inclined I was already aware of this. I owned the car for 2 weeks, never hit the rev limiter, I dont think I broke my car, or would do this to a car I like more than...well almost everything lol. Next time the car has an issue I'll fix it myself or find a better dealership.

wow, I guess the previous owner didn't take care of her.

I didn't know that about valves and revlimit. I've hit mine a couple of times when I first got her. I haven't hit it yet since I upped it to 7200. Is there another dealer here? I only know of McGrath.

Well if I see you out on the road I'll be sure to nod my head.... lol....

The rev limiter basically slams the valves down trying to hold the rpm back. I bought it from ricks and since it had their warranty I took it back there. Ill pry go to mcgraths or rydell in waterloo if I have any more issues. I understand being mad doing the work for free but they made the agreement. Just glad to have my balt back.

I honestly dont know if we do a cruise, as I am new here myself. But my guess is if we would it would have have been awhile back. What/where is Colfax near? sounds familiar but I cant put a location to the name.

I've been here for 3 yrs now and not much in the cruise scene, then again I don't really pay attention to that stuff. I'm sure DesMoines has some things happening I know of a few balts in that area.

Then there were a few who drove to the CED meet in Chicago this year. I'm sure next year there will be a few more.
