CA Heat Exchanger Kits are now shipping and listed on our website . Here is some info on the kits . The product is listed on our website under PERFORMANCE, sub category FORCED INDUCTION.

CA Front Mount Heat Exchanger features tig welded all aluminum heat exchanger . This light weight heat exchanger offers greater fluid holding capacity , and mounts in the front fascia for greater cooling efficiency. The stock heat exchanger mounts between the ac condenser and the stock radiator . This cuts down the stock cooling efficiency greatly and produces greater heat soak of booth the heat exchanger and the stock radiator. The stock ac condenser , heat exchanger and radiator are installed so close to each other there is not much air dispersion between them . By mounting the heat exchanger up front , greater cooling of the supercharger is attained thus yielding lower temperatures , greater performance , and elongated life of the supercharger itself.
**This kit features large -12 stainless steel braided hose , all aluminum fittings , steel mounting brackets and all clamps and bolts needed for installation. This is a complete kit that can be bolted on with or without removing the stock heat exchanger. Bumper removal is not necessary at all for the installation , we did it for illustration purposes only.

Your Price: $359.99 USD + *FREE Shipping* LIMITED TIME ONLY

We will have additional pics and temp changes later on tonite, so check the website .

The kit will come without the cobalt-addiction logo on the heat exchanger unless customers request it !!! Hope you all like :cssNET:

Ok well so far IAT2 seems to be running on avergae about 15 degrees cooler with just the short 1/4 Mile distances we are beating on the car within. IAt2 before was reading about 162 degrees .....now reads about 147 degress. We do however notice that after the run at full boost the IAT2 temp drops much quicker and goes significantly lower as your driving . The recovery rate of cooler air is faster as you drive due to the front mount heat exchanger , so the temps of iat2 drop very fast compared to before. I will try and get some screenshots up of it. Just gotta give me soem time for that .
All and all 2 thumbs up , looks awesome and seems to perform as expected . Also the whole system takes about 1 quart more liquid which helps with the cooling also ...No downsides here so far ....everything is for the better.

will someone be doing a how to anytime soon???? also, is the stock h/e just removed? If so, how come both h/e's can't be used simultaneously?

Ljavy17
08-08-2006, 10:22 PM
the stock radiator is used. you can use both at the same time. YOU dont even have to take out the front bumper!

Cobalt-Addiction
08-08-2006, 10:51 PM
You can use both heat exchangers if you would like . We took out the stock heat exchanger to give the stock radiator more room to breathe. Now as you can see from one of the pics there is about a 2" air gap between the ac condenser and the stock radiator. Because of the location of the stock heat exchanger it doesnt allow for much cooling especially when you install the front mount in front of it. There is more benfits to removign the stock exchanger than keeping it .
Also there are some quick screenshots listed on our website for people to see the differences. These were just real quick 1/4mile runs back to back with the car at temperature. Just alittle proof to back it up some for people who dont believe . It was hard to pick a section that showed all the positives of it , but i figured the max boost in second comparisons should be good enough for now. Let me know what you all think .

How long is the limited time price for and whats the reg. price?

Cobalt-Addiction
08-08-2006, 11:20 PM
Limited price will probably be until we sell the first 10 kits we have in stock . Then the price will probably jump up by about $30.00 . I tall depends on how fast they moveand how many we sell . If they start moving real good we will keep the price steady for awhile longer :twothumbs . We will have a how to up on the site within the next week. It is actually pretty easy to do, you would be surprised.

I have a question about the HE. After looking at the logs it appears that the change in T is really only a couple degrees. Initial IAT1 was 90 and IAT2 162. After HE, IAT was 81 and IAT2 was 149. This is a 72 degree difference before and a 68 degree difference after. Looks like really only a 4 degree difference. Comments?

car was sitting idling for a long time while I was bleeding the system so it was pretty hot to begin with.... I"m gonna do more runs friday with it with driving it around to cool it off... but just by touching it it def feels colder than the stock setup... car pulls hard now too at all rpms. also waiting on my fan to come in to see if that helps while idling...

The biggest temp difference with this heat exchanger is while the car is moving and cool air is forced through it . AT max boost it really did alittle because of the amount of heat the supercharger generates ....buts its the cool down that is much quicker and a greater difference. I could only show 1 spot on the runs so i chose max boost. Throughout though the temp differences were on average about 15 degrees cooler for the whole run once everything was averaged in and IAT1 and IAT2 were compared. ALso engine temps seem to be dropped alittle due to the room to breathe now that the stock heat exchanger isnt blocking it .
These will work on The Redline , they only come with our logo on it if requested . We can also do a Redline logo or something if someone chooses.

with a 15 degrees difference in IAT shouldnt that be over 20hp gain going off of ever 10degrees is 10% more hp? does it feel like an extra 20hp or no?

06blackg85ss
08-09-2006, 03:17 PM
Umm I don't know if its 20 hp... won't be sure til I get rid of my shitty stock exhaust... but it def feels stronger... 5th gear pulls even better at low rpms than it did before... I also just upped my meth injection from a 30/70 meth /water mix to about a 50/50 and noticed a nice increase... hopefully get time friday night to finish tuning and such and get to the dyno... I want some numbers.. as do all of you.

How hard is the Install?

06blackg85ss
08-09-2006, 03:33 PM
not hard at all. you don't have to remove the bumper either...we just did it for install pic purposes... the biggest pain was bleeding the system... everything else was easy... only need to drill 2 holes in the bumper support... as long as you pop the clips on the top of the bumper you can reach right in to tighten it...

umm... already took that out I'm sure you'll see a little better results, but I wanted to unclutter the engine compartment a little and free up some radiator space.I unfortunatley be in baltimore for the next 2 days so If I get home early enough on fri I could give it a try.

You sure do spend a lot of money installing all these upgrades man. I am not sure what my first will be or when it will be. I am thinking it will be Stage 2 and a CAI. I guess I need to decide if I want to void my warranty by installing any other upgrades...eek.

06blackg85ss
08-09-2006, 04:12 PM
I actually haven't spent that much... just buy what actually works... and I do all my own labor so it saves... maybe 1500-1700 spent but I"ve sold off parts to offset... I also keep all of the main stock parts just in case I have to bring it in to the dealership.

2 Questions for you:

1) I noticed you have the GM stage 2 belt on there as well as the ZZP tensioner.
What hole did you adjusted you ZZP tensioner to?

According to ZZP:

hole#1 stock - 3" pulley
hole#2 3.0" - 2.6" pulley
hole#3 2.5" pulley

I put mine on hole #3. I have the stock belt on there and notice no slip.

2) the snow performance W/I kit: Will that setup still work when it gets -40 degrees over here in Ontario:ca: . Worried about the pump freezing or the Injector getting blocked.

Thanks.

God I hate winter:cussing: ...we only have a few months left of nice days...

ok I use the adj tensioner in pos #2 cause it is too tight to get the belt on in #3.. I would think it would be fine they put the methanol in the washer fluid to keep it from freezing so I"m runnin a 50/50 and don't expect any problems... (washer fuid is 30% meth 70% water)

ok I use the adj tensioner in pos #2

mine is also in pos#2 with the pulleyboys tensioner
the bearings were a tad tight when mounting and tighteninig.
so we removed the bearing and shaved a few thousands off the black bracket.
this solved the problem with the bracket and bearings catching when tightened..... the movement up and down has to be there to avoid belt slip.

just pitching in my comments.... good luck

i think im gonna get the meth kit and run a 20/80 (being i dont need too much methanol with a 3'' pulley), here on LI it shouldnt get too cold as to where the washer fluid freezes, although i have had that a few times, so i figure if i use less methanol than the washer fluid mix (20/80mix instead of 30/70) then i should be in the clear even at the coldest where the washer fluid freezes on me (rarely happens, needs to be below zero to happen). Im thinking it also helps that the reservoir for the meth is larger than the one for the washer fluid, making it harder to freeze up being its a larger amount of liquid. You actually have the kit so you know better than I do. What do you think about this

well the res that comes standard with the kit is actually alot smaller than our washer fluid res wich is why I used the washer one... (2quarts - 1.XX gallons) at least get the -20 deg washer fluid... its 30/70

yea sounds good, wasnt sure of the bottle size that came with the kit so it looks like ill be using the washer fluid resivoir (prob spelled wrong) for the mix. Just need some low temp washer fluid and a good 30/70 mix and i should be straight.
