CTCOBALTSSS 08-31-2006, 05:29 PM Hey guys. Would it be possible for me to buy one of these at the tune/dyno day comming up and have someone pop it on real quick before I do my tune? That would be great!!
The GM stage 2 belt would be OK with no oversized tensioner right?
toydriver00 08-31-2006, 05:31 PM I will be purchasing mine when get home tonight from work!!!
bavoose 08-31-2006, 05:32 PM whats the difference and advantage of this over the 2.8 i still dont have stage 2 yet but got the 2.8 so now im confused on which to go with any advice please thanks. :twothumbs
Cobalt-Addiction 08-31-2006, 05:49 PM Same as the 2.8" , the reduce size is too minimum to make a difference . That is just the exact size of the pulley. These will still work with just the stage 2 belt ...no need for the tensioner also .
bavoose 08-31-2006, 05:53 PM so no hp advantage over the 2.79 compared to the 2.8 then?
Cobalt-Addiction 08-31-2006, 05:58 PM no , it would be the same as a 2.8". Just didnt want to confuse this pulley with the others that are sold .

OK good stuff so can I buy one of these at the dyno/tune day and have someone slap it on real quick before the tune is done? That would be great. I guess I could bring tools and do it myself if I have to. :twothumbs
BTW, that is awsome how you guys engraved 77.9mm in the pulley!
06blackg85ss 09-01-2006, 09:53 AM These pulleys are only designed to work with the STGII gm hub assembly.... these are not regular hub pulleys... just wanted to clarify that for you guys... but they also have the reg hub and pulley setups from 2.6-3.0...
CTCOBALTSSS 09-01-2006, 09:57 AM Hey 06blackg85ss do you think that's possible^^^^ post #8
I would rather not bring tools. :twothumbs
NightriderCobaltSS 09-01-2006, 10:09 AM So besides the smaller pulley it looks like the GM Stage 2 pulley !! Good on ya !!! :twothumbs
toydriver00 09-01-2006, 10:18 AM Is this the same one that is being offered on eBay for $5 cheaper?

BLKSS 09-01-2006, 10:21 AM Going from the 3.06 to a 2.79 no slip, no codes? For some odd reason I think both have happened to some of our stage 2 owners.

Are you really gonna tune it for the 2.8? I dont want to buy this pulley if I have to retune.

Yeah that's why I asked about the belt slipage. I'm going to make a quick post.
EDIT! Here is the post.

toydriver00 09-01-2006, 12:56 PM Does anyone have a dyno with the Stage 2 2.8/2.79" pulley, showing A/F ratio? I have seen a dyno with the Stage 2 Pulley but not with the smaller pulley.
06blackg85ss 09-01-2006, 01:10 PM It brings it up to mid 12.xx afr.... no slip... w/stgII belt... don't have to tune for the 2.8 cause the GM STGII is pig rich with the 3.15 (@ low 11.xx afr)

^^Post #12 is my dyno sheet. ^^ The red line in the a/f is stage 2 with a Pulley Boys 2.8" before I got tuned. It's nasty rich even with the 2.8", at least on mine it was. Been running it for a couple months and haven't gotten any related CEL's, haven't noticed any slipping, either.
Wish these were available when I decided on the Pulley Boyz 2.8", looks stock and cheaper, too!
toydriver00 09-01-2006, 01:20 PM Great Thanks! I guess that HPTuners it is.
Cobalt-Addiction 09-01-2006, 01:27 PM They look to be the same ones on EBay currently. They are probably from the same Manufatcurer we get ours from. There PRICE IS THE SAME as ours once you add there shipping and handling fees . They list them as 64.99 + $10.00 shipping + $5.00 insurance. If you would like we can list them as the same price ;)
Cobalt-Addiction 09-01-2006, 01:28 PM Also we will have them for the dyno day so people can do before and after runs :guns:
06blackg85ss 09-01-2006, 01:37 PM there you go...... just as posted in another post... those with the GM STG II hub make sure you bring the tool that came with the kit (for the hub screws)
BlackSS05 09-19-2006, 11:50 PM is there any way to get a smaller pulley that fits the gm hub like lets say a 2.6 or so???
06blackg85ss 09-20-2006, 08:59 AM not yet..... but soon hopefully
purevl 10-04-2006, 11:24 PM It brings it up to mid 12.xx afr.... no slip... w/stgII belt... don't have to tune for the 2.8 cause the GM STGII is pig rich with the 3.15 (@ low 11.xx afr)
on any forced induction type car i have or work on the best/safest a/f is 11:5:1...my stage 2 pulley and gm flash was dead on 11:5:1, gm does it for a reason. 12+ a/f is not safe whatsoever...i dont know whos telling you it is. 12:5 on a dyno is about 13 on the street.
