I picked up my 2.5' CA DP w/hi flow cat on friday, installed on saturday, put about 180 miles on sunday... install was easy enough, one of the damn bolts on the stock downpipe wouldnt' come off for NOTHING, me and my father wasted a good hour on that bolt...

First Pro was that it was very, very light compared to stock. My stock downpipe did however have 2 cats on it, and i'm sure that adds a good chunk of weight.

Once the stock piece was off, installation was simple, as you would expect. I had one issue, which I think was due to the cold weather, and that was that there was a good 2 inch gap between the downpipe and the exhuast. Got a C-Clamp, closed it up no problem though. Other than that, went together in about 5 minutes.

First impression after starting the car was "Holy shit, that's loud". I also have a pacesetter catback. It was extremely loud. Took it for a cruise around the block, set off a car alarm, , and noticed some squeaking, like a rubbing sound. It wasn't the downpipe, fitment was perfect. The extra vibration required me to pry up the heatshield right behind the muffler. Fixed that, went for another cruise, sounded much better.

As far as sound, I absolutely LOVE it up untill about 3k rpms... After that, it gets very raspy. I'm not sure if it has to do with the Cat breaking in, but it has started to sound a lot better. I haven't really gotten on it yet, but i did notice that there is a slight loss of low end power. There is, however, noticeable stronger high end. I pulled from 60-80mph at about 2400-2500 rpm, which i wasn't able to do before.

Overall, I love the downpipe, love the sound (up till 3krpms, for now!) and will update in a few days to see if it has mellowed out at all. I did go WOT for a few seconds today, and there was almost zero rasp compared to yesterday, so hopefully that will get a little better. Other than that, I love it so far! :cssNET:

yeah the cat does take about 200 miles to break in properly and that will get rid of the rasp... I have the 3" on mine and it was raspy in the beginning but after it broke in the tone was sweet...

great to hear!! I think it's sick at low rpms! If it stayed like that through the whole range, i would be a VERY happy customer and would recommend this piece to everyone.

Yeah it takes a little bit to break in, like any DP. You'll be good to go. :twothumbs

That's good to hear. I'm glad you like the new DP. I don't have the CA one as I made my own, but I used the same Vibrant cat they do, and it sounded like ass with my Corsa Touring. I really only got to drive it for a day or two before I left, so the cat didn't get broken in. I hated the raspiness sound it made, but hopefully that'll go away.

Mine is raspy when it gets cold but once it warms up its louuuuud. I love the down pipe. Just had to make a few adjustments to the heat shield after the axle. But other than that great product

the Spring Meet will be a go. I know a good place not too far from where the meet was last time with a nice big parking lot. Hopefully we get a lot more people to come. Trying to make it big.

about 370 miles in, and the downpipe sounds much better... i'm very happy with this purchase... there's still a slight rasp if i get on it hard, but it probably has to do with going from 2 restrictive cats to one hi flow cat... great product, noticeable gains, and would recommend it to anyone..

if you mean by yourself, as in without help, it may be a little tough just because you have to feed it in from the bottom, but bolt it to the exhaust manifold from the top... it will be much easier if you at least had someone to feed it up to you... other than that, it's a piece of cake...
