I typed in build ur own turbo kit into the css search bar but nothing good coms up. Can anyone point me into the right direction on how to go about doing this for my lsj ?

I've done it. Its simple, really. To do it properly just takes some good resources (a good welder being the main one).

Do you have a turbo in mind?

you don't need a 6262 for 350whp

If your not really looking for extreme power just go with the s252et. the spoil is quick and mid 400's is possible on a stock motor.

hes saying you don't need it if you're only going for 350whp because of the lag. i mean...run it if you want to, but you'll regret it. get the 252ET, that'll carry you past what the stock engine is capable of holding with a quick as hell spool time

From what i heard it starts building boost around 2500rpm and has full boost a little over 3000rpm. that would be an insane spool time. Thats one thing i don't want to be cheap on is the turbo

idk about the manifold or what flange the 20g uses. but yeah it could work with some finesse.

You'd be wasting money, imo. If you've got a guy that can do a downpipe and intercooler piping... don't even consider a kit.

Get the basic parts from ZZP (Manifolds, etc) and then have your guy fix up the other parts you need.

the 20g uses the t3 flange. It bolted right up to the zzp log mani that I have. Only thing is that if you're going to run the 20g, you'll either have to get a block-off plate for the wastegate flange on the mani, or remove the internal wastegate from the turbo so you can run the external one. I personally like the second option because internal wastegates get sketchy if you decide to run more than 24ish psi.

zzp parts are legit. I like the pipes and exhaust pieces my guy fabbed up for me. You're not saving any money though, imho by going this route. However, I like this option b/c you can basically get a setup designed exactly the way you want.

All good info guys thanks ! Ya i looked into buying some parts off zzp was not sure. I know dejon sells inner coolers and piping. My only fear is i buy a inner cooler from dejon then a zzp mani fold and my stuff don't bolt on.

my ideal goal is to spend between 2500-3000 max. Im sure i can build a nice kit for that amount of money and get the horsepower i was looking for. An i do have a buddy who would weld for me if i needed him to.

i don really like the internal waste gate kind of scares me a kit but I'm sure i could convert it some how to be external highest i plan on running would be 22 psi. but id like to start out at around 15psi to break everything and drive for 1-2k miles before getting on it.

it's honestly not that difficult to convert from an internal to an external wastegate. But if you're not planning on buying a kit, throw that 3k number out the door. After selling my s/c stuff (i haven't actually added up the numbers, btw, so I'm just guessing), I most likely spent 4-5k after parts and labor. And that's AFTER shopping around for good stuff at a discounted price (mostly from private sells).

As for boost....don't be a *****. Tune it right the first time. You're turbocharging your car b/c you want to have fun with it. You're gonna have to floor it anyways to tune it properly, so throw that "i'm gonna baby it for a few thousand miles" bs out the door.

not going to build a "nice" kit for 2500 lmao when a "nice" turbo is gonna cost you 1300 to begin with. so now you have 1200 to get an intercooler, exhaust mani, downpipe, wg, bov, charge piping, exhaust, intake manifold, couplers, tapped oil pan, oil feed and return lines, welded or n/a alternator, boost controller, intake, etc.
it's cool to be different and have different **** but you're not going to be saving much if at all ask me how i know.

You're saving money if your welder isn't raping you.

My first DP was a complex work of art but still cost less than $250.

This. I tell people this all the time.

"I'm only gonna DD on 15psi, but race on 22."

No, you're going to run 22psi all the time.
